Paleo "Oatmeal"

Are you tired of having eggs for breakfast? Maybe just looking for a warm breakfast bowl for the colder months? But still wanting it to be grain free, dairy free, and low carb? This Paleo “Oatmeal” is for you!


(1 serving)

Ingredients:
2 tablespoons chia seeds
2 tablespoons hemp seeds
2 tablespoons ground flax seeds
1 serving of your favourite protein powder** (I love Sun Warrior’s Warrior Blend in Vanilla!)
1 1/2 cup unsweetened almond or coconut milk

** Protein powder is optional. If you are not adding a lightly sweetened protein, you may want to add 1-2 teaspoons honey/ maple syrup, or simply sweeten your bowl with berries and cinnamon.

Toppings (optional):
Fresh raspberries, cinnamon, pecans, cacao nibs, cashew butter, MCT oil, etc…

Instructions:
1. Whisk all ingredients in sauce pan over low-medium heat for 2-3 minutes.
2. Pour warm “oatmeal” into bowl and add optional toppings.
3. Serve warm

Fresh Lemonade with Mint & Turmeric

There's really nothing better than lemonade on a hot summer day! Here's one with a little upgrade- fresh mint and turmeric!

Curcumin in the main component found in turmeric that responsible for the medicinal benefits and properties. Turmeric and curcumin have been studied for their link in improving IBD (Inflammatory Bowel Disease), Crohn’s disease, immune health, rheumatoid arthritis, cystic fibrosis, cancer prevention.

Turmeric has powerful medicinal properties due to its:

  • high amounts of nutrients

  • antioxidants

  • anti-inflammatory compounds

  • phytonutrients that have been studied in depth especially for cancer prevention

Ingredients:

28oz water
Juice from entire lemon (approximately 1/4 cup)
1 teaspoon turmeric powder
Fresh mint leaves
Lemon slices (for garnish)
*Optional* Sweeten to desired taste using honey or stevia

Instructions:

1. Place all ingredients into pitcher or large mason jar and mix well.
2. Top with ice cubes to keep chilled
